Works Submitted: “THOUGHTS OF AN UGLY CHILD” 

"Thoughts of an Ugly Child" showcases photos 1 and 2 out of a total of 6 photo manipulated images, layered with old ink artwork. It features past and present images of the artist on 13x19" and 13x13" film paper. The aim of this work is to explore the transformation of thinking about the value of one's past self. It represents a particularly negative self-reflection that later evolves into a discovery of finding the beauty within one's own appearance, regardless of personal or external judgments. Embracing the innocence and inherent beauty that existed within us as children.
